University Choirs Concert Hosted By UJ

The University of Johannesburg Choir invites audiences to join them for an afternoon of choral excellence at the University Choirs Concert on Saturday, 20 September 2025, at the UJ Sanlam Auditorium, Auckland Park Kingsway Campus. 

This much-loved concert welcomes some of South Africa’s celebrated university choirs to share the stage in a vibrant celebration of the rich choral tradition that thrives across these institutions: the University of Pretoria- Camerata, North-West University- PUK Choir, and the University of the Free State- Bloemfontein Choir. Together, they will present a program that reflects the diversity, excellence, and spirit of the South African choral scene. 

The University Choirs Concert is a cornerstone event in the South African choral calendar, offering singers and audiences alike the opportunity to engage with the very best in the field. It is our mission to uphold the high standard expected of South African university choirs while fostering the growth of the choral music tradition for future generations. 

“This biennial gathering of northern university choirs is a highlight in our events,” says UJ choirmaster, Sizwe Mondlane. “And to host it in the time that UJ celebrates two decades makes it that much more of a special occasion above gathering with our friends in music that have, in many ways, journeyed with us.” 

The University Choirs Concert 2025 will be held on Saturday, 20 September 2025, at the UJ Sanlam Auditorium, Auckland Park Kingsway Campus of the University of Johannesburg. The performance will commence at 15:00, with doors opening at 14:30 to welcome guests. Tickets are available at R150.00.
